Krystol Waterstop Grout™

A crystalline grout that creates an internal or external waterstop at construction joints, pipe penetrations, tie holes, and control joints.

How It Works

Krystol technology reacts with moisture to form insoluble needle-shaped crystals that fill capillary pores and micro-cracks in the concrete and block the pathways for water and waterborne contaminants.

Unlike other crystalline solutions that react with free lime that eventually depletes over time, Krystol Waterstop Grout chemically reacts with water and unhydrated cement particles. Any moisture introduced over the lifespan of the concrete will initiate crystallization, ensuring permanent waterproofing and watertightness protection.

Why Krystol Waterstop Grout?

Proven Over 50 Years

Krystol, introduced over 50 years ago as the first crystallization technology, has proven its efficacy through the enduring longevity of the structures where it was used.

Permanent Reactive Technology

Resistant to rain and foot traffic once hardened. Any moisture introduced over the lifespan of the concrete will initiate crystallization, ensuring permanent protection.

Safe

Safe for contact with potable water and certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 61.

Versatile

Krystol Waterstop Grout is easy to apply and allows for flexible scheduling — concrete can be placed and keyways can be filled days or weeks after installation.

Sustainable

By making the concrete itself the waterproof barrier, Krystol technology can reduce the need for additional materials and processes associated with external waterproofing or watertightness methods. This can result in more sustainable concrete over its lifecycle.
