THE OPPORTUNITY

Kryton International, a highly respected and successful world innovator in concrete waterproofing and durability solutions, is seeking an additional member to their R & D Technical Services Department. We are looking for a new RESEARCH CENTER TECHNICIAN I. This is an entry-level that frequently leads to future advancement within the company. We are seeking a Research Center Technician who can help us with in the laboratory needs and testing.

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE 

The Research Center Technician will bring with them their exposure in a laboratory setting from previous employment or from university/college setting. The ideal candidate brings outstanding attention to detail in performing laboratory duties. You must be physically able to efficiently perform the required laboratory tasks and have the tenacity and perseverance to succeed despite obstacles and setbacks.

 

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

The Research Center Technician I role encompasses a broad range of duties and responsibilities. You are responsible in learning and executing standard test methods for plastic and hardened properties of concrete and mortars. You will be responsible for testing regular production samples as part of the company’s quality control and will participate in the department’s QC-related activities. You must be able to complete test results analysis and reporting and source materials and equipment when required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience: Experience in a laboratory setting preferably related to construction lab or construction field setting is preferred
  • Education: A diploma in Civil/Chemical Engineering Technology or University degree with a major in Civil/Chemistry is an asset
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Careful attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Familiar to operating hand held tools
  • Able to work without close supervision – takes initiative, is responsible, accountable and self-managed
  • Have the tenacity and perseverance to succeed despite obstacles and setbacks
  • Knowledge and proficiency of computer software and hardware sufficient to perform the job
  • Ability to follow defined procedures and document measurement in the laboratory
  • Must be physically able to efficiently perform the required laboratory tasks including standing and walking for long periods of time and occasionally lift weights up to 50lbs
