Hydrostop MS (K-770)

DESCRIPTION
HYDROSTOP™ is a state of the art water-repellent sealer specifically designed for concrete, brick and masonry. HYDROSTOP™ works better and lasts much longer than conventional sealers because it contains a unique blend of silane and siloxane compounds which chemically react with silicates below the surface of the substrate. This reaction forms an insoluble, water-repellent barrier within the surface that cannot wear away, fade, yellow, crack or peel. The finished application is virtually invisible, leaving the surface with its original appearance and breathability.

APPLICATION
All surfaces to be treated must be clean and free from dirt, oil, loose paint, moss, mildew, laitance, efflorescence, form oils, and any other contaminate that may interfere with the penetration or reaction of the HYDROSTOP™.

HYDROSTOP™ is best applied with a low pressure sprayer. A common garden sprayer is adequate for most jobs. Airless spray equipment is more efficient for larger projects. HYDROSTOP™ can also be applied by mop, flooding and squeegee, broom, brush or roller. Surface temperatures must be above freezing. HYDROSTOP™ can be applied as a single flood coat, however two coats is recommended.

COVERAGE
Coverage varies with the porosity of the surface to be treated. A test patch should be conducted to measure exact consumption. Apply in two coats at the coverages listed below:

• tile/stone/slate 400 sq.ft./gal. per coat
• dense concrete 300 sq.ft./gal. per coat
• normal concrete 240 sq.ft./gal. per coat
• concrete block 200 sq.ft./gal. per coat
• split faced block 150 sq.ft./gal. per coat
• red brick 100 sq.ft./gal. per coat

LIMITATIONS

• Does not resist hydrostatic pressure
• Can not be repainted with water-based paints
• Not an oil repellent
• Is not effective on non-masonry substrates such as wood, vinyl, asphalt, metals, and painted or sealed surfaces.

PRECAUTIONS

• HYDROSTOP™ is flammable, keep away from sparks and open flames. Extinguish any pilot lights. Do not operate electrical switches.
• Provide adequate ventilation when using.
• Store well sealed in the original container. Contact with moisture prior to use will prematurely react the product which may result in lower performance and possible darkening of the substrate.
• Do not store in direct sunlight or in temperatures above 30oC
