Vertical Cold Joints in Shotcrete Walls

Application Instructions:

1. Apply Krystol Waterstop Treatment™ coat to the intended joint area of the existing concrete using a concrete brush. Employ a circular, scrubbing motion so as to achieve maximum adhesion and penetration.
2. Create a keyway against the existing shotcrete wall when the subsequent layer of shotcrete is shot approximately 1.5 inches deep by 1 inch wide.
3. Remove form from set concrete. Ensure that the keyway is clean that no wood is left in the keyway. Remove any form release agents, dirt or debris.
4. Tightly pack the Krystol Waterstop Grout™ mix into the keyway. Protect the application from damage by rain, rapid drying or freezing.

Note: Wait a minimum of 28 days after the concrete has been poured before packing the Krystol Waterstop Grout. Surfaces to be treated must be pre-wet to a saturated-surface-dry (SSD) condition. Do not leave any standing water.
