Joint Repair - Slab to wall (slab is inboard of the wall)
Application Instructions:
Prepare the joint using a 1" (25mm) wide chisel, chip a 1" wide chase along the entire length of all cracks to a depth of 1.5" (38 mm).
Fill one-third of the depth of the chase with Krystol Plug™ and hold until water stop flowing or seeping. Mix only enough material as can be placed in 1 minute. Repeat the procedure from one end to another.
Pack the Krystol T1® into the chase to a thickness of 1/2" (13 mm) over the Krystol Plug. The chase should now be two-thirds full.
Fill the rest (outer third) of the chase flush to the surface with Krystol Bari-cote™. Mix only as much as can be placed in 15 minutes.
Coat the repair area, extending at least 8 inches to either side of the repair, with Krystol T1® and then apply a second slurry coat of Krystol T2® after the Krystol T1 application has set hard. Mix in the same proportion and apply at the same rate of coverage.
Note: The chase must be square shaped. Do not form a V shaped chase. Surfaces to be treated must be pre-wet to a saturated-surface-dry (SSD) condition. Do not leave any standing water.
when chipping out the joint, the angle of the chipping hammer should be fairly steep as to ensure that when the chase is made the joint is in the middle.
