Greater London Authority Building: Underground Tunnels BACKGROUND The underground concrete tunnels and transformer room were constructed using conventional waterproofing systems but leaks occurred through the cold joints and cracks. Large holes were drilled through the concrete to allow room for service pipes and they were prone to leakage due to the high water pressures of the Thames River. SOLUTION The drilled holes for the service pipes were filled with Krystol Baricote followed by a slurry application of Krystol T1 and T2 to stop all water from entering the service rooms.
