BACKGROUND
In a tidal area of the Yarra River, the City of Melbourne required a deep excavation for the construction of an Underwater World Aquarium attraction.

Several stories below grade, the secant pilings withstand tidal waters and require a permanent waterproofing system for the concrete pilings.

SOLUTION
T The KIM waterproofing admixture was the sole waterproofer utilized for the secant pilings. The use of KIM completely eliminated the necessity for other systems and has performed as specified with no water seepage. The wet silty river soil within the excavation area is now firm and dry.
