Background

Concrete pools and spas on the 17th floor of the Hyatt Hotel and on the 3rd floor of the Sheraton Hotel in Calgary are situated over guest rooms. 

During specification and construction it was recognized that these aquatic centers demanded high performance, permanent waterproofing to remove the threat of leakage.

Solution

KIM Admixture (Krystol Internal Membrane) was added to the concrete mix and Kryton's original joint design system was used for pools and spas in both hotels. Eliminating the need to install costly, labor-intensive external membranes. 

KIM performed to specification and Krystol waterproofing technology now provides lasting protection from leaks and cracks.
