Choosing the Right Wall Coating
for Your Project

When selecting an exterior coating for your building or home, give some thought to what properties the coating needs to have. A good coating system must be flexible or elastomeric in order to resist cracking. For maximum durability, it must allow for a thick or high-build application. However, to avoid blistering and other problems, it must also be permeable enough to allow water vapour to escape. A good coating system must also have excellent long-term adhesion. It must resist dirt, as well as the effects of weather and sunlight, and it should be easy to clean.    more

Two of the more common methods for waterproofing construction joints that building owners, specifiers and contractors turn to are PVC waterstop and bentonite. The first method, PVC waterstop, involves placing a plastic barrier into the joint during the concrete pour.
