Bayside Grand Apartments

PROJECT DETAILS
Over 300m³ of Krystol Internal Membrane™ (KIM®) was used in the construction of all balconies and roof slabs of the Bayside Grand Apartments on Phillip Island, Victoria.

KIM is a cementitious admixture added to the concrete to provide permanent waterproofing, and replaces the need for any external waterproofing, such as membranes. KIM® uses Kryton’s proprietary crystalline technology to react with water and unhydrated concrete, causing millions of needle-like crystals to form, blocking the penetration of water and corrosive elements. Over time, incoming water causes additional crystals to form, self-sealing small cracks and saving repair and maintenance time and costs.
